**if you choose to use your own fabric, i advise you to look for strong, non-stretchy bottomweights like a fashion denim, twill, linen, flannel or woven stuff. light & quilter's fabrics don't make good straps, but they make fabulous bodies & liners!

send me the following measures of fabrics (but email me 1st for approval):
same fabric for entire carrier - 2.5 yards
~or~
one fabric for straps - 2 yards
separate fabric for body - 1 yard total

i will return to you any unused portion, unless you say i can keep it. there will be a $5 discount for using your own fabric.
frequently asked questions
"i'm a larger/smaller sized person, will the mei tai fit me?"

if i have anything to say about it, it will! just give me your measurements & i will adjust the strap lengths accordingly. the factor that makes a mei tai larger or smaller is not the body size, it's the strap length.
"so, what are the dimensions?"
the body is where your child sits & the standard dimensions for that part are generally 15" x 20". the body can easily be made longer to suit an older child. i usually make the upper straps about 70" long & the lower straps about 60". they can be very easily lengthened & shortened by me. the straps are 4" wide. i would be pleased to customize your carrier in any way that would be helpful for you.
"can i face my child out in a mei tai?"
i wouldn't recommend it. babies can often only take so much stimulation in an outward-facing carry before they need to retreat to the comfort of your familiar chest. it's a big world and can be overwhelming to a little one!
"i am new to babywearing; is the podegi a good carrier to start with?"
probably not. in order to become practiced & confident with tying a baby onto your body by yourself, a really good traditional carrier is a mei tai. the very long straps of the podegi can be daunting to the novice. it won't take long, however, for you to become an expert babywearer & i guarantee, once you go down that road, you will want to try every carrier out there, if only once!
"what payments do you accept?"
i prefer paypal, but i will take a money order. i do not accept cash, personal checks or echecks.
"how soon will i get my carrier?"
from the point of purchase or receipt of your fabric, i can usually get you carrier sent out in about a week. very rarely will it take longer.
"what shipping company do you use?"
for monday - friday shipments, i use the u.s. postal service. on saturdays, fed-ex. no shipping on sundays.
"what is your return policy?"
Lifetime Repair/Replace- If the carrier comes apart with regular use, I will repair it or replace it for free. Customer will pay shipping both ways. Refunds only within 30 days after shipping. Will refund only if I cannot produce a satisfactory replacement. Returns are not valid without a printed/signed/dated copy of the return form. Some shrinkage may occur during washing & drying process. If shrinkage is not desired, dry-cleaning is recommended. Over time & use, your carrier will lose it's original shape, conforming to the shape of your body & your baby.
"how about exchanges?"
yeah, we can do that. exchanges are allowed within 30 days of shipping. customer pays shipping both ways.

if you don't see your question listed above, please email me & i will add it to the pile!
