BPA mimics estrogen in the body. Some plastics leach BPA when the plastic comes in contact with oil, fatty foods and boiling hot water, especially during heating and microwaving and as a result of harsh cleaners of detergents and brushes. The effects of exposure to BPA at an early stage in life, over long-term would result in several common diseases.
