I wanted to give a shout out of thanks to the man I overheard talking at the grocery store. I overheard him telling his son that living with hatred and prejudice in your heart is wrong, and if people mistreat you because of your color, they are the ones who are ignorant. He encouraged his son to love all people and accept everyone and to understand that there are good and bad people of every color. He asked his son to be one of the "good" people. Sir, you are an inspiration.

Limit condos

Time for a referendum to limit the number of condominiums being built in Des Plaines. Our elected officials need to be more creative and stop creating a transient suburb. It will not only affect the abundance of condos already built, but it will also affect homes, too. They already created more supply than demand. They need to try to lure more businesses into the community and provide more recreation for the abundance of condos. There needs to be a dog park to accommodate these condos that have pets in town. Also there needs to be another senior center in town for those who cannot drive to the Frisbie center (there are a lot of them, too!)

Proper preparations?

The casino is very nice. But what has the city done to prepare for its ripple effects? Will we soon be seeing payday loan shops, Cash For Gold, and money transfer everywhere? What development controls have been put into place? Will Metra riders know that Dee Road, and not downtown Des Plaines, is the nearest stop? What's been done to make the rest of the community look better to the coming influx of visitors, to distinguish us from the other, economically disadvantaged casino towns? This casino should help improve our community, but that can only happen if we make the proper preparations.

Robin Hood Republicans

In response to the person who wrote about the Republican Party as "Robin Hood in reverse." Please remember one thing, Robin Hood never stole from the rich to give to the poor, he took money from the government and gave it back to the people. That's exactly what the Republicans are trying to do. So actually the Republican Party is the modern day Robin Hood.

Hopes for probe

I am concerned about the Park Ridge City Council's appointment of Robert Trizna to the library board. Trizna has a blog with a masthead that violates city ordinance 2.3.1. It should be looked into with a full investigation. Alderman Bernick was the only reasonable person who opposed the appointment. I believe he called for a fuller investigation. I hope Bernick sticks to doing what is right and makes sure the city and maybe states's attorney conducts an investigation.

The goal is to keep your ad active for as long as possible. Paying for additional ad features such as extended ad life is a great benifit and will help your back linking. Most classified ad sites will allow you to run an ad for more then 180 days. It takes about three to four months for your ads to be indexed and seen but remember, don’t go crazy or your IP address could be banned and your classified ad making days will be over.

If you have something to sell, direct everyone to your email address where you can then sell your products or promote a service. If your listing a service you provide make sure people understand fully what your service is and how much your asking for it. You want to make sure your readers understand your classified ads so that they know what they are getting or that they know exactly what you want.
